Free Ecommerce? What is the catch?
There are around 500 shopping cart solutions publically available around the web. Here is a challenge, count how many offer a free trial. We figured it was time for a change, let's stop offering a free trial, let's just get people selling. Live, online, instantly!
To start we just need your email address to send payments to and the name and price of your first product. We generate you a unique secured domain name (it instantly supports SSL and we let you change it to match your business name). On this new domain name we provide a shopping cart and checkout that is completely brandable in every respect. So that we can get you selling instantly we join it seamlessly with PayPal to accept payments. Other payment methods are available after you sign up and setup your account.
You are in control of your design from top to tail on every step of the cart and checkout experience. Other solutions will either send your clients to a secured area on a payment processor website that breaks the flow of your design OR the solution will fail to meet credit card industry security requirements for accepting credit cards.
This seems a bit too simple
Agreed! We have designed ezimerchant to be as simple as possible to use. "Don't ask" is one of our philosophies, we hope it shines through, let us know if it doesn't. Having said that, ezimerchant's capabilties are anything but simple, for example:
- Price your products online as you would offline, by customer login, by quantity purchased or a simultaneous combination of the two. With customer groups you can have as many pricing levels as you need!
- Accurately calculate freight with Australia Post and SmartSend freight quote integrations, we uniquely address the difficulties of automatically pricing freight costs online by not simply adding up the weights of your products in the order, but determining in realtime how somebody would pack items into packages, then we get a quote on sending packages - a far better approach.
- Creating an account during customer checkout would have to be the biggest source of cart abandonment, we solve this by allowing people to login with their Google, Live, Facebook or OpenID account OR we defer account creation (by not asking to set passwords) until after an order is placed.
- We make use of the Australia Post Postal Address File (PAF) to automatically look up customer's addresses, we can usually present a list of candidate addresses that contain your complete delivery address within a few key strokes of typing your street name.

I have a large number of products - a few buy buttons are not going to cut it!

A buy button is a snippet of html code or a web link that can send people to your cart or checkout to purchase your product. This works great for a small number of products. But copy and pasting html code or web links into your websites can get boring quickly! To avoid the boredom we provide a catalogue publishing solution that integrates with the cart and checkout. We use the same awesome tech to let you control the design of your cart and checkout to control the look and feel of your category and product pages.
The catalogue publishing system works with most hosting services - however, we throw in a web hosting account when you subscribe to a catalogue publishing plan if you need one.
