Is there any limit to the size that my site can be or the number of products?

Your ezimerchant Professional site can be as big as you want physically (in MB). However the number of products to be entered into ezimerchant Professional should not exceed a maximum of 2500 ~ 3000 products.

The more products you have, the larger the site is and the longer it will take to not only generate the site but also to upload it to your host.

Web sites with thousands of products will also be harder to navigate from a customer point of view. We recommend keeping your web site simple and easy for your customers to navigate.

You should also keep in mind the size of your images. Large images look great however they are larger in file size and take longer for your customers to download. If your customers find themselves spending to much time downloading images and get bored or sick of waiting they may shop elsewhere.

Below are two images - The first image is 26.2kb whereas the second image is 9kb.

26.2kb - Approx 5 seconds to download on a 56kbps modem connection	9kb - Approx 2 seconds to download on a 56kbps modem connection

By optimising your images, you can significantly reduce the time it takes for your web site to load, and you can save on bandwidth charges from your hosting provider as well.
