This is an instruction to our crew (not to you – you can ask as many questions as you like!). We’ve designed the entire site to ask as few questions as possible for you as a merchant and for your customers. There’s nothing more annoying than being asked question after question and filling in endless boxes, so we’ve eliminated as many as possible.
The reason many sites ask a lot of questions is nothing to do with security, it’s to harvest information for their own marketing. We don’t do that. We work on a strict ‘need to know’ basis when it comes to information about you and your customers.
How ‘Don’t Ask’ works for your customers
Credit cards
We don’t need to ask what type of credit card your customers use - it’s obvious from the credit card number – and we accept all major credit cards so it’s not an issue.
Names
We don’t ask for titles, gender, first name, middle name and surname. Just the name is all that’s needed.
Address
We do need a full address (if you turn address verification on), but we use Australia Post software that auto completes addresses based on a few key presses.
How ‘Don’t Ask’ works for you.
Have a look at your control panel and you’ll see. We don’t ask countless questions for configuration. Our settings pages are limited. It doesn’t mean a lack of flexibility, as site behaviour can be controlled through the site template you choose.
